unfavorite things part 1

Well un favorite things: Lets start with my aunt Marvel having to spend her vacation here in California from Minneapolis at St. Johns hospital. Aunt Marvel was released from St. Johns hospital here in Oxnard to be tranfered to a rehab faciliaty. No fun at all. Preparing to leave Mineapolis to spend the holidays she fell could not get up, had to call 911 and the fire department arrived and helped her up. She arrived here a bit sore but able to get around with a bit of help. Coming home from Santa Barbara she fell again getting out of the car. That night fell again going to bed. Un-able to move we basically insisted she go to emergency. Today is thursday tomorrow will be one week away from family and now at re-hab She and her husband My uncle Don were scheduled to go home this past Wednesday now who knows when she will get home and right now she is thru with her vacation and all she wants is to go home. I do not blame her one bit.

sunday pizza

SUNDAY PIZZA Sunday July,11 2010 had a real nice day yesterday. At about 5:00 p.m. moms cousin Richard Byhre and his wife bonnie came to visit.Cousin Steve showed up shortly after. Mother wanted Steve to meet them he had never done so. Richards father was my grandfathers brother Grant his mother was Vi probably Vivian for short. When Richards father Grant passed away his wife married another brother of grants and my grandfather Elmer. Vi and Elmer lived in Long Beach in the same building as a another brother Edwin I knew him as uncle Ed. When uncle Ed passed it was the first funeral I ever had been to, There was a open casket I remember filing thru to view and my father nudging me along. Uncle Ed was known for always listening to a transistor radio listening to the ball game. Uncle Ed would give Kim and I our own radios. Uncle Elmer and aunt Vi collected stamps they gave me some, I dont know what happened to them. Richard and Bonnie were taking mom out to dinner, Steve and I were going out also they invited us along. We went to Toppers pizza they wanted something fun and said Pizza so we ate outside there at toppers it was quite nice pizza and conversation was good and nice. Richard had lost his hearing had received a couple of the ocular implants one worked the other failed he is still very hard of hearing. Richard was very sympathetic of my limb loss last time they were here I had a problem with my foot but I had it. Steve is planning the 50Th anniversary party for his folks back in Minneapolis he said he would like mom and I to go. Steve said he wanted to pay for us to go and pay for our hotel rooms! wow I told him I was going even if I had to walk. I told mom it would be nice if Kim came along. The world cup in South Africa is finished with Spain winning there first.

LAKERS 2010

The NBA finals this year 2010 the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Boston Celtics went to the max 7 games the Lakers won the final game 79 to 83 the Lakers winning the title on there home court. The lakers had to win game 6 also at home to get to the 7th and final game. The 7 game format is set up with the team with the best regular season record gets home court advantage. The Lakers had the home court advantage going into the series. Lakers won the first game 89 to102. The 2nd game the lakers gave up the home court advantage by losing 103 to 94. The series then shifted to boston for the next three games. The Lakers came out strong defeating Boston 91 to 84. Games 4 and 5 went to Boston Lakers 89 Boston 96 and Lakers 86 to Celtics 92. The series then shifted back to Los Angeles for games 6 and 7. Los Angeles had to win both games to take the trophy and banner game 6 was not very close the lakers out hustled the Celtics 67 to 89. The series victory gave Los Angeles there 16th banner in team history the Celtics have 17. The title was coach Phil Jacksons 11th title. Kobe Bryant and Derrik Fisher both have 5 rings this was Kobe Bryants 2nd series MVP. Big question now is will Phil Jackson return next year to coach the Lakers or is it Byron Scotts turn or Brian Shaws time ?. After the victory the crows stormed out of the Staples center causing some minor problems celebrating the victory.

The paralympics are coming to a end in Vancouver. Talk about amazing athletes. Pro athletes these days will sit out a week of games for a sprained finger. paralympians go out and compete missing limbs. A twisted ankle to them would be a godsend to have that ankle to twist. I support these athletes 100% too bad it took a amputation of my own to discover these accomplished athletes.
